New Appointment Triage System
With effect from Tuesday 13th August 2024 we are operating a new triage system for GP appointments.
We have reviewed the current system for booking GP appointments and due to an increase in demand, we are going to trial a new system for patients to access these appointments.
This system will ensure that those patients in most need of a same day appointment are prioritised and allocated an appointment with the most appropriate clinician.
Same Day Appointments
Our triage doctors will be reviewing the information given to our care navigators, who will take some basic details from you and ensure that you are available to attend for a same day appointment or receive a telephone call.
To run this service efficiently, where appropriate, we will be using text messages to contact some patients with the details of their appointment. For those without mobile phones, you will be contacted back by a member of staff with the details.
Routine Appointments
As safety is our greatest priority, the GP may suggest that some conditions can be better dealt with by your own GP in a routine appointment. You will be informed of an appropriate appointment as required.
Having listened to all the feedback from patients, both positive and negative, we hope this new system will ensure that we are making the most efficient and effective use of our available resources and offering better continuity of care for our patients.
